I hate spending time reading about the plot of a book on review sites - just tell me, Did you like it or not?

About me

At the Coliseum in Rome, Italy.
Introductions are in order. My name is Jessica, and I read. A lot. I read for information, yes, but mostly for entertainment and escape.

My favorite genre is Young Adult. I find that the themes and content are right up my alley. Adult fiction too often deals with real-life problems, which I get enough of on the news and in, well, real life. I also so love to pick up a good cookbook, and crafting books are pretty awesome, too.

I grew up in a family of five kids; my dad was in the Army, so none of us have what you'd call a hometown. We got to live all over America and Europe. My mom was the most fabulous mom ever and supported me in all my interests and endeavors. I consider myself very lucky to have the upbringing that I did.

I starting volunteering in libraries when I was 12, then started getting paid in high school and then when I started working at my university's library. I loved every minute of it!

I've been writing book reviews since 2008 on Goodreads.com, but I wanted to start a blog so all my non-Goodreads friends can see what's going on in my book universe.

If you'd like me to review a book, leave a comment below, and I'll try and add it to my To Read list.
